Sharper Consulting Services are working on behalf of our local authority client in Kent in their search of an Environmental Health Officer/Private Sector Housing Officer.
You will play an integral role in enforcement, grants, and energy efficiency initiatives across the borough.
Duties
* Investigate complaints, conduct HHSRS inspections, and enforce housing standards.
* License and regulate HMOs, ensuring safety and compliance.
* Deiver Disabed Facilities Grants (DFGs) and financial assistance to improve housing conditions.
* Work with landlords, tenants, and partners to tackle substandard housing and reduce empty homes.
* Take egal action where necessary, including serving notices and prosecuting non-compliance.
* Lead caravan site icensing and enforce minimum energy efficiency standards.
* Provide expert housing advice and contribute to policy development.
About You
* BSc/MSc in Environmental Health + HHSRS Certificate
* Experience in housing enforcement, HMO licensing, and grants processing
* Strong communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills
* Ability to manage a busy caseload and work both independently & within a team
* Full UK driving license and willingness to work flexibly, including occasional out-of-hours duties
