Procurement Manager within the Public Sector

We are currently working with a Public Sector organisation to help recruit two Procurement Managers to join their Strategic Procurement team. They help to deliver public services across the local area, making a positive impact on the community and lives of the residents.

Your new role

Reporting into the Head of Procurement, you’ll be leading the organisation’s approach to the procurement of goods, works & services efficiently within the complex regulatory environment of public sector procurement, aligned to several categories.

The primary purpose of this role is to help run the end-to-end procurement process across the categories you are aligned to, from a range of small to large tenders working on framework call off, mini-competitions and large tenders where necessary.

You’ll help to build and maintain a strategic relationship with senior stakeholders across the directorate and its services, to help provide. This will include working with managers and commissioning officers to ensure that all directorate level procurement activities are properly managed in line with the wider procurement strategy.

Role 1 Categories: Fleet, Estates, FM, Regeneration, Housing, Construction
Role 2 Categories: Adult & Childrens Social Care, Public Health & Education

What you’ll need to succeed

A relevant degree or procurement & supply chain qualification, or professional experience within the sector.

Hands-on experience within the public sector and a deep understanding of public sector regulations (PCR15), experience on call offs, mini competitions and full tenders is necessary.

Experience of working across the whole procurement process.

Previous experience working with senior leadership.

Experience in the given categories would be beneficial.

Confident communication, stakeholder & supplier management skills.

A salary of up to £49,498

A hybrid working pattern; fortnightly travel to the office & ad-hoc visits (Bristol area) and flex-time options.

Initial holiday allowance of 29 days, moving to 31 days after 3 years and 33 after 5 years (exclusive of bank holidays)
