Head of Employer Relations for a complex large organisation for a contract of 6–9 months in Dorset
Our client is seeking an experienced Head of Employer Relations to join the senior team in a time of change. This is an initial interim contract for 6–9 months based in Dorset.

As the Head of Employer Relations, you will be leading an ER and HR Advisory team and also HRBPs to deliver professional and comprehensive ER and People Change services.
Key responsibilities will include:
Lead a team of high-performing and responsive HR & ER professional teams, providing direction, support and engagement.
Lead the relationship with recognised Trade Unions design strategies and lead frameworks (such as the Joint Consultative & Negotiating Committee) which foster constructive partnerships.
Providing leadership of complex organisational change
Provide expert advice to leadership teams and ER/HR teams on a range of ER and associated risk management matters.
Oversee the team’s portfolio of ER casework, including matters related to conduct, performance, absence management, and change and restructuring initiatives. This includes managing employment tribunals and internal appeals processes, working diligently to mitigate risks.
Be a role model and subject-matter expert on all ER and people management matters and a point of escalation when required
Horizon scan and ensure that policies and processes are forward-thinking, fair, transparent, inclusive and foster a positive working environment and staff experience.

Candidates
Were seeking an experienced Head of Employer Relations / Senior HR & Employer Relations Specialist / Head of HR/ER who has a background of leading ER within complex large-scale unionised environments.
Chartered MCIPD, CIPD Level 7
Substantial proven experience of leading an Employment Relations or generalist HR team within a complex unionised organisation
Substantial experience of successfully working in partnership and negotiating with Trade Unions and employee representatives
Experienced navigating organisations and teams through change.
Experienced in complex employer relations and change management
Strong project management and organisational skills
Offer
6–9 months contract working via Hays on a temporary contract basis
37 hours per week
Minimum 3–4 days per week on site in Dorset
