Business Area Description:
The Chief Financial Officer’s (CFO) organisation is the driving force behind increased value creation and profitability in the company by being responsible for the finance and control function, risk management, business development, strategy and the functional centre of excellence organisation.
CFO plays a key role in shaping and safeguarding the company, supporting improved performance and enabling our client to develop and deliver on strategic ambitions to create value as a leader in the energy transition. CFO provides advice and professional support to business units as well as the corporate executive committee and engages with external stakeholders. An important task for CFO is to ensure a high level of ethical and financial compliance that meets corporate and external requirements.
The Team:
The team consists of a diverse group of people with experiences from different Business Areas and backgrounds. located in London, Aberdeen and Great Yarmouth.
We are a large team (18) with a broad range of tasks, where each member has autonomy and flexibility in their work
We are organised in a competence centre giving employees the opportunity to work on a broad set of deliveries

The Position:
Take on an exciting position that holds overall responsibility for financial reporting both externally and internally for our client. This role offers you a broad scope including quarterly and annual reporting, ESG reporting, and EU Taxonomy. You’ll work closely with highly competent Accounting Managers supporting other business areas and assets and will interact with a broad range of both internal and external stakeholders.
This role has two core areas of responsibility which are:
Financial Reporting
• Responsibility for quarterly and annual financial reporting for UK legal entities.
• Accounting for taxes (close co-operation with CFO tax).
• Responsible for Statutory Financial Statements, coordination of local audit.
• Identify and address accounting policy issues under IFRS / Local GAAP, prepare relevant accounting memos.
• Work according to global standard processes and drive improvements.
• Relevant and timely involvement in significant potential acquisitions or divestment.
• Support and input to quarterly risk items (close co-operation with business areas Accounting Manager).
• Contribute and help drive the implementation of S4 Hanna.
Compliance
• Financial compliance including reviewing key control mappings and scoping.
• Compliance with relevant laws and regulations including the Sarbanes-Oxley Act section 404 (SOX Controls), as well as governing documents.
Work Related Competence / Skills:
• A degree in Finance or another relevant subject, or hold Qualified Accountant status with ACA, ACCA or CIMA.
• A clear technical background in IFRS / Local UK GAAP, preferably with experience of working inEnergy, Renewables or Oil & Gas.
• Previous experience of working at a senior level, liaising with senior leadership and collaborating with business areas.
• Previous experience of high level planning, accounting and risk management.
• Knowledge or previous experience of working on tax accounting and strategy.
• Excellent digital systems skills, in particular SAP knowledge or experience.
• A strategic thinker, with an analytical, structured and systematic approach.
• Solid interpersonal skills and the ability to build and maintain relationships.
• On occasion this role will require travel between London and Aberdeen, applicants are asked to consider this requirement when applying.
