Job Title:                 Accounts Payable Assistant

Reporting to:          Team Manager

Location:                  Based at the Bolton Office – Hybrid working

Salary:                      £23,500 – £24,000  per annum 

Working Hours:       Monday – Friday, 37.5 hours per week

Job Description

The Accounts Payable Assistant will provide professional and flexible support to the Accounts Payable team. The successful candidate will be responsible for processing invoices, reconciling payments and purchase orders. You will be required to deal with queries from suppliers over the phone and email. 

Key Responsibilities 

Processing supplier invoices and credits

Setting up new supplier accounts and maintaining existing account details within the purchase ledger

Processing bank reconciliations and payment runs

Dealing with queries from suppliers over the telephone and by email

Liaising with Finance Managers within the company

General office duties such as filing and answering the telephone and dealing with the post

Ensuring all statements are reconciled and any queries are dealt with/escalated promptly

Running month end reports to ensure all ledgers are up to date and correct

Essential Criteria 

Great interpersonal and communications skills

Office experience (ideally within an account payable) and a willingness to learn

Good team working skills

The ability to work to monthly deadlines

An aptitude for IT – knowledge of software packages like Excel, and BACS

Good time management and organisational skills.

Desirable criteria

Experience on Sage

Experience on Access

Accounts payable experience 

Standard responsibilities:

There are a number of standard duties and responsibilities that all employees, irrespective of their role and level of seniority within OFG Group are expected to be familiar with and adhere to.

Leads, manages and participates in an annual performance review programme.

Works, at all times, in accordance with the policies and procedures of the OFG Group and statutory regulations applicable to the Group.

Observes, at all times, strict rules of confidentiality appropriate to the post.

To comply at all times with the requirements of Health and Safety Regulations to ensure their own wellbeing and that of their colleagues.
