Merthyr Tydfil County Borough Council – require :Care Worker – Social
To cover shifts: annual leave; sickness etc.
The worker must have Good Verbal Communication skills (English) Worker will be required to be a female for this shift Worker must be local to Merthyr.
Essential:
Completion of 10 hour online Welsh Work course.
QCF Level 2 in Care or a similar qualification recognized by Social Care Wales, or willingness to undertake this within first year of employment.
Competent in the following topics or ability to complete training.
Safeguarding
Care with medicines
Control of infection
Food Safety
Moving & handing
Fire safety
Sensory impairment
Mental health awareness
Continence care
Care & responsibility
First aid
Commitment to undertake training which is relevant to the individuals who are being supported.
At least 1 years experience in a social care role within a registered setting would be preferred
* Excellent communication skills both orally and in writing.
* Demonstrate the understanding for good interpersonal skills and the ability to work to these requirements.
* Demonstrate enthusiasm & commitment to the provision of quality residential services.
* Ability to work in a multi-disciplinary team.
* Ability to work as part of a team to assist in resolving problems and finding innovative solutions, ensuring that relevant information is recorded and feedback to Management team.
* Maintain confidentiality and GDPR.
* Support outcomes which contribute to meaningful lives.
* Understand the needs, values, and rights of people with assessed care and support needs.
* Demonstrate knowledge of the Regulation and Inspection of Social Care (Wales) Act 2016 and the code of conduct for social care workers
* Demonstrate an understanding of all aspects of care provision based on QCF principles & standards.
