Remote SEND Case Officer – SENAR
We are currently working on behalf of the Birmingham City Council’s Special Educational Needs Assessment and Review Service (SENAR) who are looking to recruit a member of staff to join their team of Case Officers. The department is responsible for coordinating the statutory assessment process that can lead to an Educational Health & Care Plan for children and young people.
The Role:
Taking responsibility for case load work that is ongoing within the team’s processes
Reviewing and investigating cases and taking appropriate further action
Communicating effectively with all stakeholders and professionals involved with the cases
Recording accurately information onto systems and tracking progress on individual cases
Liaising with managers and stakeholders for relevant meetings over progress reports on cases
What you will need:
To have experience working as a SEND Caseworker within a local authority and Hays Education, you need to be able to obtain satisfactory references that reflect this experience
Experience of dealing with Education Health Plans and their process and the legislation around the EHCP process
Good administration and time management skills and the ability to work independently
An ability to work to deadlines and targets and deal with high volumes of work
Good IT skills and an ability to pick up new IT systems and processes quickly, including the use of spreadsheets
An ability to record data accurately in line with guidance and procedures
Good customer service and communication skills

37.5 hours a week with potential for flexible start and finish times
Pay of £250 a day
