H9 Technical are working with a leading UK-based energy-from-waste (EfW) operator who are looking for a Category Buyer. The Category Buyer will be responsible for managing procurement activities within the power generation sector, ensuring the efficient sourcing of goods, materials, and services.
Responsibilities
* Develop and implement category strategies aligned with operational needs and business objectives.
* Manage the procurement of categories such as maintenance materials, spare parts, fuel, chemicals, and services.
* Conduct regular market analysis to identify new suppliers and assess cost trends.
* Lead the end-to-end sourcing process, including preparing tenders, evaluating bids, and negotiating contracts.
* Ensure the timely procurement of critical supplies to avoid operational downtime.
* Collaborate with technical teams to develop specifications and ensure procurement meets operational requirements.
Education:
* Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, Business Administration, Engineering, or a related field.
* Professional procurement certification (e.g., CIPS) is highly desirable.
