About the Opportunity
The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) leads EnergyCo to implement the Government’s vision for a sustainable energy transition by securing affordable, reliable, secure and sustainable energy for NSW by setting and executing EnergyCo’s strategic plans and providing leadership to ensure successful delivery against organisational and financial goals.
The Corporation is a Board governed entity and is established as a Staff Agency Government Sector Employment Act.
The CEO heads the executive team in managing the operation of EnergyCo, its people and resources to achieve the Corporation’s strategic objectives set by the Board, the Minister and the Secretary of the Department of Climate Change, Energy, the Environment and Water (DCCEEW).
About You
To be successful in this position, you will be a highly experienced senior executive within the energy sector and/or public sector. You will have strong experience managing greenfield construction projects and D&C contractors. You will have the ability to manage complex projects and stakeholder relationships to achieve targeted outcomes and exhibit an appreciation for the importance of community and industry engagement and connections.
You’ll be experienced in leading high performing teams in large and complex organisations. Your sharp business and commercial acumen will complement your strong technical understanding of the energy and public sectors, and the challenges and priorities facing this industry moving forward.
You will also be a strong people leader with a track record of working collaboratively with a variety of public and private sector stakeholders to deliver key initiatives. Your ability to leverage these industry networks will help you deliver on EnergyCo’s critical strategies including the Electricity Infrastructure Roadmap and Renewable Energy Zones (REZs).
Who we are?
The Energy Corporation of NSW (EnergyCo) is a statutory corporation established under the Energy and Utilities Administration Act 1987 and governed by its Board, appointed by the Minister for Energy. EnergyCo is a Staff Agency employing all EnergyCo staff and is an agency related to the DCCEEW.
EnergyCo plays a pivotal role in the NSW Government’s Electricity Infrastructure Roadmap, which aims to transform the state’s electricity system into one that is cheap, clean, and reliable.
As Infrastructure Planner under the Electricity Infrastructure Investment Act 2020, EnergyCo is responsible for leading the delivery of the State’s first five Renewable Energy Zones (REZs) and two priority transmission infrastructure projects (PTIPs), which are located in the Central-West Orana, New England, South West, Hunter-Central Coast, and Illawarra regions. We work closely with communities, investors, and industry to investigate, plan, recommend and coordinate generation, storage and network infrastructure projects.
