Personpower is proud to be working with a well-established and highly regarded Children’s Residential provider based in Colchester for young people aged between 8 – 17 with emotional and behavioral needs.

The Role

As the Deputy Manager, you will support the Registered Manager in the day-to-day running of the home. You will lead by example, ensuring the highest standards of care and safeguarding are maintained. This is a hands-on role combining leadership responsibilities with direct care.

Key Responsibilities

* Support the Registered Manager in ensuring the home meets Ofsted regulations and achieves “good” or “outstanding” ratings.

* Lead shifts and supervise a team of Support Workers.

* Support in rota planning, staff development and mentoring.

* Manage and oversee care planning, risk assessments, and behaviour support strategies.

* Promote positive outcomes in education, health and emotional wellbeing.

* Act as a designated safeguarding lead in the absence of the manager.

About You

* NVQ Level 3 in Residential Childcare (or Children & Young people).

* At least 1 year of experience as a Deputy Manager or strong Team Leader/Senior experience with an understanding of Regulations and Supporting Reg 44 visits.

* Knowledge of Children’s Homes Regulations and Ofsted.

* Excellent communication, leadership and organisation skills.

* Full UK Driving License and Full Right to Work.
