We are recruiting for a Commodity Buyer for a well established client based in Stone Staffordshire. For this role you will be purchasing within commodity groups to support manufacturing and the wider business.
For the role you will need the following skills
* Min GCSE English & Maths
* CIPS qualified (Preferable)
* Experience working in a manufacturing environment.
* Understanding of Warehouse/Logistics/Freight operations.
* Ability to understand the organisations requirements and apply procurement / buying strategies.
* Analytical, organised to meet deadlines
* Must possess excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to explain procurement information on an internal (cross functional) and external (suppliers) level
* A working knowledge and use of ERP and MRP for scheduling and forecast analysis.
* Knowledge of Excel & Word
* Ability to understand drawings and specifications
* Good negotiation and influencing skills whilst purchasing or expediting goods & services.
* Good understanding of COGS
* Willingness to travel (Supplier visits UK)
* Flexibility and ability to work at pace in a fast moving and varied environment.
* Vendor analysis understanding
Working hours are Mon-Fri, 37.5 hours
Company offers “Flexi-Time” where hours worked over 37.5 can be taken back in the form of two half day holidays per month.
