A well established and constantly growing environmental consultancy that operates across the UK with bases in Nottingham Stoke-on-Trent, Macclesfield and Sheffield.

They provide services to a wide range of public and private sector clients across rail, utilities, commercial, residential, retail, infrastructure, industrial and more. As an Environmental Consultancy, they typically provide the following services; Ecology, Arboriculture, Flood Risk Assessment and Habitat management.

Working here will give you a deeper understanding of the environmental industry through interaction in a multidisciplinary team and working on a wide range of projects.

Your new role

This company has recently started to work with an extremely large rail based client, this project is UK wide and will be running for an indefinite time fame. They are looking for ecologists to work all over the UK, who are willing to stay away for extended periods of time.

Main duties will vary but could include…

Operation Ecological Clerk of Works (ECoW) duties
Vegetation management on rail projects
Writing briefing notes, feasibility studies and other summaries of findings
Habitat suitability checks including buffer zone management
Effectively communicating with colleagues for efficient project delivery

What you’ll need to succeed

Some experience in an Ecological capacity – Seasonal or Full time
Field / site-based experience
Willingness to travel, stay away for extended periods, work weekends and night shifts
Ability to communicate with and manage contractors
Good Identification skills in relation to invasive plants and terrestrial animals
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Full UK Driving Licence
Holder of a Personal Track Safety (PTS) Card (not essential)
Holder of a protected species licence (not essential)
