The Role

Are you an experienced EL 1 Fraud Investigator looking for a short but exciting contract with a high-profile government department? Do you have a Certificate IV Government (Investigations) or a similar qualification?

Are you based in Canberra and have a baseline clearance?

If you answered yes to these questions, this might be the role for you!

Duties:

Undertake internal and external fraud and corruption investigation activities to ensure compliance under Commonwealth legislation.
Undertake Public Interest Disclosure (PID) investigation activities in line with the PID Act and Ombudsman’s’ requirements.
Research, analyse, collate information, and identify risks and issues from internal and external sources to provide recommendations regarding legislative non-compliance and/or fraud identification, investigation and evidentiary processes to inform decision making.
Support the team to improve current investigation tools/templates
Liaise with internal and external stakeholders including AFP, NACC and Commonwealth Ombudsman’s office
Conduct interviews and collect witness statements. Gather evidence from relevant sources to prepare high quality and evidenced based briefs and reports.
Support the team to participate in litigation where appropriate to ensure the provision of effective representation on behalf of the department.
Develop and implement fraud investigation processes and procedures.
Do You Have?

Demonstrated skills, recent and relevant experience in the formal conduct of fraud investigations.
Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
Adaptable to competing priorities and challenges in dynamic environments.
