This is a good opportunity for career development as our business is growing and we support and encourage our staff to grow with it.For this particular role, we would be looking for the applicant to be able to supervise a team of 5-7 operatives, for H&S and Quality Control, for 1-2 days out of the week and also be able to carry out the other works as detailed below. Your working week will be organised to reflect these requirements.The role will ideally be suited to a highly skilled and knowledgeable electrician that is looking to start taking on more responsibility in a new position, in an exciting company with big plans.We place high value on staff training as we aim to be as up to date as possible with regards to the current regulations, particularly with regards to test and inspections. We foster a learning environment and would expect new staff members to be open to learning and sharing their knowledge with the rest of the team. It is vital that any new staff members are willing to work with a positive attitude towards problem solving and be enthusiastic about helping other team members when required. We train our apprentices to work to our standards and in line with our value base and your responsibilities will include taking part in the training of the apprentices.Currently we split our time between domestic and commercial work in Glasgow and regular contracting work for housing associations in Edinburgh. There are also occasional opportunities to travel further afield for specific contracts.Most commonly the role will involve:Domestic fault findingEICRsFulfilment of social housing contracts to their spec.Electrical installation works including rewiringGeneral electrical repairsCalloutsCommercial ProjectsEV charger installationsThe contracting work in Edinburgh requires testing and repair work to be carried out to precise specifications so attention to detail and pride in providing a high-quality service are vital attributes to any new employee.Our work is varied which keeps the post engaging and interesting.There is opportunity for overtime and at times we do ask staff to help us get jobs over the line.
