A leading brand in the supply and maintenance of construction machinery across the UK are looking for a skilled plant engineer to join their team.

Key duties and responsibilities of the Field Service Engineer:

* Repairing and maintaining machines on customers sites as required to ensure conformance with manufacturer’s specification

* Attending breakdowns and fault finding on machines

* Accurately completing all relevant paperwork daily on a phone or tablet

* Submitting daily timesheets and job cards

* Accurately ordering your parts and working closely with the parts department

* Working closely with the service supervisor

* Helping to train and mentor apprentice engineers

* Carrying out inspections and repairs of machines at our depot as required – in conformance with manufacturer’s specification and any regulations affecting their use

* Ensuring that there is no deficiency or defect likely to affect the safe working of a machine – and notifying appropriate manager of any defective or unsafe equipment

The ideal Field Service Engineer candidate will have:

* Relevant qualifications e.g. City and Guild, NVQ or SVQ in Construction Plant / HGV / Light Vehicle etc (essential)Experience in construction plant, diesel engines, electrics, hydraulics, transmissions, and fault finding using electronic diagnostic equipment

* The ability to prioritise tasks and work well in a busy environment

* Great customer service skills and the ability to build rapport with our customers

* Good IT skills

* A flexible and positive outlook with an outgoing approach to work
