About the Role
Join a dynamic finance team and take ownership of key accounting processes across a transformative government portfolio. In this role, you will support end-of-month procedures, asset management, and the development of robust financial management strategies to ensure compliance and drive continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities:
* Support end-of-month accounting activities, including financial reconciliations and maintaining the integrity of general ledgers.
* Oversee transactional accounting processes across multiple systems (e.g. SAP, ExpenseMe Pro Corporate Card, QTravel) to ensure operational excellence.
* Contribute to the preparation of annual financial statements and comprehensive government reporting.
* Assist in asset accounting functions, including annual stocktakes, impairment reviews, and regular compliance checks.
* Support the development, monitoring, and evaluation of financial management strategies aligned with statutory requirements and government policies.
* Document policies, procedures, and internal control frameworks to promote consistent, high-quality financial practices.
* Collaborate on financial management projects, analysing data to ensure timely delivery of key outcomes.
What We’re Looking For:
* Relevant accounting qualifications (e.g. CA/CPA) or equivalent experience in public sector financial management.
* In-depth knowledge of financial management principles, public sector policies, and regulatory frameworks.
* Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial information effectively.
* Proficiency in spreadsheet and database applications; experience with systems such as SAP is highly desirable.
* Excellent communication and negotiation skills with a track record of providing clear, timely financial advice.
* Proven experience in financial reporting and transactional accounting in a dynamic, multi-faceted environment.
