The Sustainability Brand Communications Manager will join the Sustainability Brand Communication team, helping to shape and bring to life our sustainability story in order to support the success of Siemens� sustainability business.
About your role.
As Global Sustainability Brand Communications Manager (f/m/d), you will support the development and execution of the global brand communication strategy for sustainability at Siemens. Working closely with cross-functional teams and under the leadership of the Head of Sustainability Brand Communication, you will play a vital role in developing and executing consistent, compelling, and on-brand sustainability messaging and content that builds on Siemens� sustainability value propositions and heroes impact.
This role requires a balance of strategic thinking and flawless execution, with a focus on planning and delivering targeted and effective communication to both internal and external audiences. You will collaborate with global sustainability, communications, and business teams to implement initiatives that drive Siemens� sustainability narrative forward. The content you create will serve not just Siemens� communications department, but enable leaders and communicators across the company to talk about sustainability in a consistent way.
Acting in close collaboration with our Sustainability function, the role also requires a strong understanding of key topics such as climate change and circularity; changes in the regulatory environment and their impact on communicating on sustainability, and how to drive credibility and reputation in sustainability through integrated marketing / communications.
Your responsibilities.
Deliver on global brand communication strategy for sustainability as part of Siemens� overall brand narrative.
Develop sustainability messaging for different target groups (internal and external) and ensure alignment with the broader communications strategy.
Create impactful sustainability content and campaigns for a range of key audiences, ensuring it is backed by data insights and suitable for use across different platforms and regions.
Coordinate the overall global sustainability story for major sustainability events, from bringing together sustainability communicators across the business, to working with subject matter experts and stakeholders across Sustainability, Government Relations and other key functions.
Oversee the production and distribution of sustainability content across key touchpoints, ensuring it aligns with Siemens� global brand guidelines.
Foster strong relationships with key internal partners, such as the global sustainability team, other communications teams, and regional businesses, to ensure alignment and collaboration.
Define critical success metrics for sustainability communication efforts and regularly evaluate their effectiveness.
Act as a brand guardian for sustainability, ensuring all communication initiatives are consistent with Siemens� global brand positioning.
Keep abreast of digital and content marketing trends, particularly in relation to sustainability, and ensure these are applied to Siemens� communications strategy.
Your profile.
Experience: You have 5-8 years of experience in brand communications, ideally within a B2B environment and with a focus on sustainability communication. Experience within a technology company is preferred.
Strategic and Tactical Expertise: You have demonstrated experience in contributing to both the strategic and executional aspects of (brand) communication. Experience with sustainability messaging is a plus.
Sustainability Expertise: A genuine passion for sustainability, paired with up-to-date knowledge of the latest trends, developments, and innovations in sustainability and sustainability communications (e.g. greenwashing and green clams) and a proactive approach to staying informed.
Creative Storytelling: You have experience in developing creative ways of talking about sustainability impact, including in different formats (audio, video, text).
Collaborative: You excel in working collaboratively with cross-functional teams and can navigate complex, matrix organizations effectively. You have a natural ability to build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders.
Results-Oriented: You are detail-oriented and can manage multiple projects while maintaining a focus on delivering measurable results. You have a track record of successfully executing communication strategies.
Digital Savvy: You have a solid understanding of digital communications, including content marketing and social media, and can apply these insights to sustainability communications.
Teamwork: You thrive in a team environment and are capable of collaborating across various regions and departments to deliver a unified communication strategy.
International Experience: You have experience working within international teams or organizations and can adapt your communication style to different cultural contexts.
Languages: This role requires business-fluent English language skills, with German proficiency being a strong advantage. Additional languages are a plus.
Education: University degree in politics, sustainability, marketing, communications, business, or a related field.
