About the Role
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead curriculum initiatives in alignment with school and departmental goals.
- Participate in delivering the vision of Education Queensland.
- Develop the quality of teaching and learning.
- Nurture positive relationships between students, teachers, and stakeholders.
The Head of Department (Curriculum) is accountable to and works under the direction of the Principals.
Eligibility:
Applicants must possess relevant teaching qualifications and be registered with the Queensland College of Teachers. Experience in curriculum leadership is essential.

Working in rural and remote locations like Boulia and Dajarra may offer additional incentives, such as subsidised housing based in Mount Isa and transfer and appointment expenses.
This role offers a fantastic opportunity for an educator who is passionate about curriculum leadership and willing to work across multiple rural communities. The successful candidate will travel between Mount Isa, Dajarra, and Boulia using a departmental vehicle, with accommodation provided in Boulia and Dajarra.
A flexible weekly roster will be negotiated, with most weeks alternating between the two schools. This setup allows for deep engagement with both school communities, ensuring consistency and meaningful curriculum development.
