The Head of Department, Student Services role requires a commitment to enacting our values of integrity, inclusion & innovation and necessitates collaboration between fellow Guidance Officers, Student Support Services, Heads of Department & Deputy Principals.
This role is pivotal in creating an environment that promotes student engagement, well-being & leading a team of teachers to support students to become confident, creative & accomplished learners.
This position is offered on a temporary part-time basis at 0.30 FTE and 15 hours per fortnight, until 12 December 2025, unless otherwise determined. Negotiations are welcomed to add an additional incumbency at 0.7 FTE with teaching to make this a 1.0 FTE workload.

About the Role
The Head of Department, Student Services in many instances is the initial point of contact for a range of inquiries made by parents, staff & students and makes informed decisions based on a good knowledge of school policies and procedures.
The Head of Department, Student Services leads through:
Empowerment:
- High Performing teams of Form teachers who in turn lead class teachers to support the academic, social-emotional and wellbeing of the Year Level cohort.
- Liaising with students, parents, and caregivers as required (in consultation with school support services).
- Promoting capability and learning opportunities for all in our school community.
Inclusion:
- Creating a culture of high expectations and promoting a positive learning culture in which all people contribute and are accountable.
- Enabling through capability, student leadership opportunities with a lived and enacted understanding of service and legacy.
Integrity:
- Designing a culture of respect through clear communication of school expectations and enlisting parent, caregiver support.
- Prioritising and managing responsibilities relating to student wellbeing, attendance, engagement, and behaviour in collaboration with the Heads of Department Team, Student Support Services and Deputy Principal.
