About the role

We are looking for a highly skilled Head of Network Architecture to lead the strategic direction and development of our network domains. As a key leader in one of Australia’s largest and most influential companies, you will be responsible for crafting long-term network strategies that enhance reliability, simplify architecture, and ensure seamless connectivity across all network domains.

Responsibilities:

• Direct a team of 7 architects with room to grow the function
• Develop a strategic network architecture roadmap
• Lead network evolution through strategic planning
• Evaluate new and emerging technologies like AI, SDN, and Cloud as the business shifts towards cloud-native architecture
• Drive long-term strategy development, reliability, and simplification of network architecture

Skills and experience

• Previous experience in implementing large-scale network transformations
• Ability to communicate and influence key internal stakeholders up to C-Suite level
• Keen attitude to learn about and evaluate the latest technology trends and products
• Deep expertise in IP/MPLS, Network Automation, Core Networking, 5G, SDN, and Network Security
• Background in network engineering
• Proven experience leading successful teams
• Previous experience in the telecommunications sector
