Junior Mechanical Design Engineer

As a Junior Mechanical Design Engineer, you will have a recognised degree in mechanical engineering, or similar, and at least one years’ post university experience in a design focused role. It is essential you are confident with the SolidWorks system. It would be beneficial for the appointed Junior Mechanical Design Engineer to have experience in industrial/product design and have a flair for the aesthetic. Junior Mechanical Design Engineer – Role and Responsibilities – Mechanical Engineer / Sheet Metal / Plastic / Aluminium / Assembly / Mechanical Engineer / SolidWorks / Electro-mechanical / Machined

* Designing a range of machined components, plastic injection moulded parts, fabricated sheet metal enclosures and much more
* Carry out mechanical fittings and compatibility checks on electronic assemblies.
* Assist the production team with the design of relevant jigs & fixtures
* Ensure all products are designed with manufacture and assembly considerations
* Evaluate components from datasheet information and then approve through appropriate testing
* Build and test initial prototypes and qualify the design with the correct documentation

Junior Mechanical Design Engineer – Skills and Abilities – Mechanical Engineer / Sheet Metal / Plastic / Aluminium / Assembly / Mechanical Engineer / Solidworks / Electro-mechanical / Machined

* A degree in mechanical engineering, product design or equivalent
* At least 1 years experience using SolidWorks
* Knowledge of metal (castings, sheet metal, machining, extrusions, etc)
* Experience in a manufacturing environment with design for manufacture and test
