We are seeking a dedicated Local Authority Designated Officer (LADO) to join on a permanent basis. The LADO will play a crucial role in safeguarding children by managing and overseeing allegations against adults who work with children. This position requires a strong understanding of child protection procedures and the ability to work collaboratively with various agencies.
Your new role
Manage and oversee allegations against adults working with children.
Provide advice and guidance to employers and voluntary organisations.
Ensure that all allegations are handled in accordance with statutory guidance and local procedures.
Liaise with police, social care, and other relevant agencies.
Maintain accurate records and produce reports as required.
Deliver training and support to staff and partner agencies.
What you’ll need to succeed
Proven experience in child protection and safeguarding.
In-depth knowledge of relevant legislation and statutory guidance.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work under pressure and manage complex cases.
Strong organisational and record-keeping skills.
Relevant professional qualifications (e.g., social work, education, or similar).
