Legal Counsel, Real Estate/Corporate Practice (3-5 PQE) – US MNC

As part of our continued growth, we are expanding our legal team and seeking a Legal Counsel to support our corporate and real estate functions. This is an exciting opportunity for a talented lawyer to be part of a high-performing team in a dynamic and fast-paced business environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide legal advice on general corporate, commercial, and regulatory matters to support the company’s operations in Australia.
  • Assist in structuring, negotiating, and drafting various corporate agreements, including service agreements, procurement contracts, and other commercial arrangements.
  • Advise on leasing, acquisitions, disposals, and development projects, ensuring compliance with Australian real estate and corporate laws.
  • Draft, negotiate, and review real estate-related agreements, including leases, sale and purchase agreements, and facility management contracts.
  • Act as a business partner to internal stakeholders, providing pragmatic and commercially focused legal advice.
  • Support governance, risk management, and compliance initiatives, ensuring adherence to corporate policies and local legal requirements.
  • Monitor legal and regulatory developments relevant to corporate real estate and commercial operations in Australia.
  • Work with cross-functional teams to ensure compliance with applicable laws and mitigate legal risks.
  • Assist in managing disputes, including real estate-related litigation, contractual disagreements, and regulatory matters.
  • Collaborate with and oversee external counsel where necessary.

Key Requirements

  • Admitted to practice in Australia.
  • 3-5 years of post-qualification experience (PQE).
  • Strong corporate real estate and/or corporate practice experience gained in a reputable law firm is highly regarded.
  • Prior in-house experience would be a significant advantage but is not required.
  • Excellent contract drafting and negotiation skills.
  • Strong analytical ability with a proactive, solution-oriented approach.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple stakeholders in a fast-paced environment.
