As part of our continued growth, we are expanding our legal team and seeking a Legal Counsel to support our corporate and real estate functions. Key Responsibilities
- Provide legal advice on general corporate, commercial, and regulatory matters to support the company’s operations in Australia.
- Assist in structuring, negotiating, and drafting various corporate agreements, including service agreements, procurement contracts, and other commercial arrangements.
- Advise on leasing, acquisitions, disposals, and development projects, ensuring compliance with Australian real estate and corporate laws.
- Draft, negotiate, and review real estate-related agreements, including leases, sale and purchase agreements, and facility management contracts.
- Act as a business partner to internal stakeholders, providing pragmatic and commercially focused legal advice.
- Support governance, risk management, and compliance initiatives, ensuring adherence to corporate policies and local legal requirements.
- Monitor legal and regulatory developments relevant to corporate real estate and commercial operations in Australia.
- Work with cross-functional teams to ensure compliance with applicable laws and mitigate legal risks.
- Assist in managing disputes, including real estate-related litigation, contractual disagreements, and regulatory matters.
- Collaborate with and oversee external counsel where necessary.
Key Requirements
- Admitted to practice in Australia.
- 3-5 years of post-qualification experience (PQE).
- Strong corporate real estate and/or corporate practice experience gained in a reputable law firm is highly regarded.
- Prior in-house experience would be a significant advantage but is not required.
- Excellent contract drafting and negotiation skills.
- Strong analytical ability with a proactive, solution-oriented approach.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple stakeholders in a fast-paced environment.
