Our client, a leader in the financial services industry, is seeking a Mainframe Architect to join their team. As a Mainframe Architect, you will be part of the IT Operations department supporting critical data center migration initiatives. The ideal candidate will have exceptional problem-solving abilities, strong analytical skills, and excellent communication skills which will align successfully in the organization.
Job Title: Mainframe Architect
Location: Remote (Candidates must be located in Canada and be eligible to work without requiring sponsership)
What’s the Job?
- Architect and manage comprehensive data center migration projects from legacy systems to modernized infrastructures, ensuring business continuity and minimal operational disruption.
- Design, configure, and implement robust on-premises infrastructure solutions optimized for high-performance financial applications.
- Develop and execute detailed test iteration plans to validate the functionality, performance, and reliability of financial applications post-migration.
- Ensure seamless integration and interoperability of mainframe systems with contemporary infrastructure components and third-party applications.
- Create and maintain comprehensive documentation of migration strategies, setup configurations, test plans, and troubleshooting methodologies.
What’s Needed?
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related discipline.
- Minimum of 15 years of experience in mainframe architecture, with a focus on data center migration and on-premises setup.
- Extensive experience in developing and executing sophisticated test iterations for complex financial applications.
- Proficiency in mainframe technologies including COBOL, JCL, DB2, and z/OS.
- Excellent project management skills with the ability to lead complex migration initiatives.
