Job Title: Family Liaison & Assistant SENCO
Location: Oakfield House School, Salwick
Salary: £21,051.00 per annum
Hours: 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday 8:30am-4:00pm
Contract: Permanent, Term Time only

As part of our continued growth, we now have a fantastic opportunity for a Family Liaison & Assistant SENCO to join our close-knit team at Oakfield House School located in Salwick.
About the role
The primary responsibility is to provide support to our SENCO and Assistant Head (Pastoral & DSL) by overseeing and coordinating the provision of support for students with special educational needs (SEN). This role involves administrative duties like record-keeping and scheduling meetings with parents, professionals and external agencies. Additionally, the assistant may directly support individual students with SEN, manage learning resources, observe and report on student progress, facilitate communication between teachers, parents, and external specialists, and engage in training to stay updated on best practises for supporting students with special needs. The specific duties can vary between SENCO and the Assistant Head, but collectively, these responsibilities ensure that students with SEN receive the necessary support to thrive in their education.
Responsibilities
Working with the SENCO to support curriculum areas in ensuring outstanding outcomes for SEND students
Assisting with the development and implementation of strategies aimed at raising the achievement of SEND students.
Actively promoting and demonstrating creativity and innovation when searching out new strategies to support our SEND students
Maintaining good quality school documentation pertaining to the Learning Support needs of all students
Attending SEND meetings with outside agencies and ensure documents are personalised, robust and include SMART targets aimed at raising the achievement of individual students
Qualifications required
GCSE or equivalent in Maths and grade C or above in English or equivalent

Oakfield House School is an outstanding Primary School for autistic pupils and those associated with Autism/Learning or Complex Communication and Behaviour needs. The school has a strong and committed leadership team. Our school is a country house built in the 1880’s, set in eight acres of beautiful parkland.
We cater for 45 boys and girls aged between 4 – 12 years old and we have been judged as Outstanding in all areas by Ofsted.
The Site is situated in Salwick near Preston and are within commutable distance from Preston, Blackpool, Chorley, Leyland and surrounding areas.
