Head of Electronic Trading Technology Recruitment APAC at GQR Global Markets
Work with a global trading team to combine data, research, technology, and trading expertise which enables them to solve the most complex challenges.
As a Performance Engineer in the infrastructure team, you will work on x86 hardware, the Linux operating system, and all the tuning necessary to help achieve the low-latency trading goals. Successful candidates will be able to clearly explain a tuning strategy and describe components necessary to verify and achieve this result.
Responsibilities:
- RedHat 9, Debian/Ubuntu familiarity: able to build a custom system using a commercial distribution as a base image
- Linux kernel.org version 6+: configure/tune/build/package the kernel
- Bash, Python, gcc, familiarity with C and building open source packages
- Rpm building: able to get just about anything working and assembled in clean, portable packages
- Support systems for FPGA: firmware loading, monitoring, test scripts, automation
- Familiarity with Intel hardware, internals, tuning
- Overclocking Intel CPUs: understanding of hardware capabilities (CPUs, DDR4/5 tuning, etc)
- Documentation and “Test hygiene”: able to clearly explain control systems, test harnesses, and scientific approach to testing
