Job Description:

  • Willing to sign a Private Practice Agreement for Medicare billing in Public Hospitals

  • Permanent, Part Time, 8 hours per week

About the Role

To work within an inter-disciplinary team, providing clinical expertise in the discipline of Psychiatry, and to contribute to high-quality pain management services for patients referred to the service.

  • Provide guidance to the BWCPM team to enhance a patient’s journey through the service when requested

  • Provide focused, short term intervention to patients when appropriate

  • Facilitate discharge planning of existing patients who require transition to longer term psychiatric care in the community

  • Help scope opportunities to establish and drive innovative clinical research in pain management

  • Provide clinical supervision for Pain Medicine trainees to enhance reflective practice, prevent burnout and manage ethical issues

  • Actively participate in endorsed quality improvement projects and education activities of the unit

Classifications for this position will range from HN16 – HN56 ($117.22 – $152.53 per hour)

A Bit About You

Must Have:

  • Demonstrated knowledge, experience and expertise in providing psychiatric care to patients with chronic health conditions, including persistent pain

  • Experience and evidence of working successfully in a multidisciplinary setting with excellent teamwork ethos

  • Strong interest in Pain Management

  • Highly developed verbal and written communication skills

  • Eligibility for Medicare provider number for MBS billing at BWCPM location and willing to sign a Private Practice Agreement for Medicare billing in Public Hospitals – 100% donation model

  • National Coordinated Criminal History Check (NCCHC)

Nice to Have:

  • A strong interest / experience in clinical research and proven interest in a research topic relevant to pain management

  • Faculty of Pain Medicine (FPM) Fellowship

  • Expertise or interest in relevant areas of Medicine such as Addiction Medicine, Neurology, Functional Neurological Disorder, Palliative Care or other specialist clinics where chronic pain is prevalent

  • Teaching / clinical supervision experience
