The role:

Rabobank has an opening for Regulatory Affairs Manager. Reporting to the Senior Manager, Regulatory Affairs, you will provide support to Rabobank Australia business units in their interactions with the Australian Banking Association & other industry bodies or regulators as needed.

In this role you will collaborate closely with the Regulatory Affairs team to track & monitor regulatory developments, while also co-ordinating with regulators & industry bodies. Additionally, you will be at the forefront of identifying emerging regulatory trends, ensuring that the team is aware of & proactively addressing any new requirements.

You will join a dynamic team based in Sydney who work a hybrid mix of in the office & at home.

Top Role Accountabilities:

  • Provide a liaison point for key interactions with regulators & industry bodies to drive consistency & timeliness in communications & adequate Rabobank representation in industry working groups.
  • Develop & implement guiding principles & processes for business interactions with, & submissions to, regulators & industry bodies to create a consistent approach across Rabobank.
  • Provide support to Rabobank Australia business units in their interactions with regulators & industry bodies on key matters and submissions.
  • Be on top of relevant regulatory & industry developments & themes & oversight over Rabobank’s action to address these (from a Line 2 perspective).
  • Proactively identify & signal emerging trends in regulatory developments.
  • Assist with the management of regulator interactions, including co-ordinating preparation of regulatory submissions & meetings with regulators.
  • Assist with preparing regulatory interactions & regulatory insights reports for Head Office, management committees & the Board of Directors.
  • Active involvement in compliance training & development activities, promoting risk awareness & active risk management.

To be successful in the role, you will have:

  • Expertise in Compliance or Risk Management: You have around 5 years hands-on experience in compliance, audit, &/or risk management within the financial services industry.
  • Regulatory Knowledge: You possess a good understanding of key regulatory obligations, including privacy, AML/CTF, sanctions, the Corporations Act, & prudential requirements.
  • Excellent Communication Skills: Your solid verbal & written communication allow you to convey information clearly & effectively.
  • Relationship Building: You develop, build, & maintain strong relationships with colleagues & stakeholders.
  • Presentation Confidence: You have the confidence to present to & facilitate meetings with senior stakeholders.
  • Tech-Savvy: You are proficient in MS Word/Excel/PowerPoint & are able to produce reports and data-driven insights.
