Your new role

My client is recruiting for a Senior / Principal Environmental Consultant to join their growing team, with the potential to base yourself at any of their U.K. offices (Belfast, Cardiff, Carlisle, Dundee, Edinburgh, Forres, Glasgow, Inverness, Leicester or Manchester).

You will primarily work from home in the short term, unless this is unavailable to you. You will be provided with all IT equipment and software/services require to facilitate your efficient home working. Long term arrangements will be discussed and agreed with the successful candidate – they are a flexible employer and are willing to consider any arrangement that is desirable to you.

You will coordinate the delivery of environmental permitting projects across the UK, and will have experience in one or more of the following preferably in a consultancy role; environmental permit applications and variations, environmental impact assessment using appropriate tools e.g. D1 Calculations, H1 Software Tool, SCAIL, ADMS and BAT.

What you’ll need to succeed

You will posses an Honours or Masters Degree in Chemical, Process, Mechanical, Civil or Environmental Engineering, the physical sciences, or similar, and
Full U.K. driving licence
Professional chartership(s) would be viewed favourably.
Experience with Environmental permit (e.g. Industrial Emissions Directive, via PPC/EPR/IPC) applications and variations.
Experience with regulatory liaison and negotiation e.g. SEPA, EA, NIEA, EPA.
Experience with environmental impact assessment using appropriate tools e.g. D1 Calculations, H1 Software Tool, SCAIL, ADMS.
Experience with best available technique (BAT) review of plant, equipment and processes.
