The regional legal team plays a pivotal role in supporting business objectives by managing regulatory and commercial frameworks for the business. This group operates across borders, providing strategic legal advice to ensure compliance and mitigate risks in an ever-evolving technological landscape.

Role Overview
The organisation is looking for an experienced technology lawyer to join its regional legal team. This individual will lead on matters involving complex technology contracts, regulatory compliance, and innovative digital solutions. The role requires a forward-thinking legal professional who can handle high-stakes commercial negotiations and navigate the intersection of technology, law, and business strategy.
As a key legal advisor, you will work closely with product and business teams to enable growth in a fast-paced, tech-driven environment. Collaboration with global legal peers and cross-functional teams is a core aspect of the role.
Key Responsibilities
- Act as the lead negotiator for high-value technology and commercial contracts.
- Provide legal counsel on regulatory frameworks relevant to technology, privacy, and digital platforms.
- Support the rollout of next-generation products, including emerging tech partnerships and digital solutions.
- Draft, review, and finalise agreements in areas such as software licensing, data usage, cloud services, and fintech partnerships.
- Advise on risk management and compliance strategies for new and existing technology initiatives.
- Engage with executive stakeholders to align legal and business strategies.
- Stay ahead of trends in technology law, including intellectual property, data protection, and cybersecurity.
- Travel may be required for key negotiations or projects.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate should possess:
- 6-8 years of post-qualification experience, preferably with a focus on technology law at a top-tier law firm or multinational organisation.
- Candidates who have been trained in other (commercial) practice groups at major law firms, coupled with in-house experience at a major tech company, will also be considered.
- Expertise in regulatory compliance, privacy laws, and technology transactions.
- Demonstrated ability to manage and negotiate complex technology and commercial agreements. Commercial contract drafting is essential.
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills to work effectively with senior business leaders.
- A proactive and business-oriented mindset with the ability to thrive in a dynamic environment.
- Experience advising on matters related to fintech, cloud services, software licensing, or digital platforms is highly desirable.
