This role involves leading the Enforcement team in the analysis, collation, presentation and advice to senior colleagues and executives on complex matters.

The function:

The Enforcement team oversee the Commission€™s approach to the case management of regulatory, illegal markets and criminal investigations. Additionally, recognising and identifying issues of risk which will include novel, contentious, precedent setting, reputation and financial considerations that may have implications for the Commission.

Your responsibilities:

– Being accountable for the performance of the function and the staff working within the Enforcement Team. Providing leadership and carrying out all aspects of people management.
– Support the delivery of key projects in areas such as High/Medium Risk Regulatory Casework, Proactive Criminal/Illegal Markets Enforcement Operations, Illegal Markets business plan deliverables, Delivery and Implementation of the Case Management System.
– Manage a diverse portfolio of work across the gambling enforcement landscape; communicating with key internal partners; other government departments, external partners and the wider gambling industry.
– Lead on high profile Regulatory and Criminal Investigations producing effective and timely case updates to the senior leadership team.
– Support the delivery of our emerging Illegal Markets work; leading teams involved in disruption and complex investigation work.
– Work with other Regulatory Enforcement Managers across the Enforcement Team to ensure a collaborative approach to delivery.

What we€™re looking for:

Essential criteria:

1. Experience of leading a team to deliver results, experience of developing and maintaining stakeholder relationships, both internally and externally.
2. Experience and passion for continuous improvement in a regulatory and investigative environment; utilising and presenting data effectively and identifying training requirements to develop our teams.
3. Experience of risk and issue management, escalation and mitigation/ resolution.
4. An ability to prioritise and work to tight deadlines, identifying emerging threats and manage workloads effectively in a fast-paced working environment, whilst still maintaining a strong attention to detail.
5. Excellent oral and written skills, presenting confidently and concisely to a variety of internal and external stakeholders.

Desirable criteria:

1. Regulatory Enforcement experience leading the delivery of high profile/complex investigations (Level 4/5 in new Risk Process).
2. Knowledge and familiarisation of core Regulatory principles and legal requirements.
3. Criminal Investigation experience and case management (Level 4/5).
4. Illegal Markets (Remote Disruption/Investigation) experience.
5. Knowledge of RIPA and covert techniques.
6. Awareness of NIM and intelligence products.
