Overview
A non-ministerial government department is looking to recruit a policy delivery professional to make policy and operational decisions based on evidence available, creating detailed written and verbal communications to senior leaders and external stakeholders. They will need to be adaptable, agile and work autonomously to oversee the delivery of legislation and implementation of food safety policy.
The post holder is required to be highly focused on maintaining relationships with stakeholders and also by working with other teams to deliver effective priorities and targets.
They will be required to provide professional information and advice on food safety and operational delivery, with a specific focus on Food Hygiene Ratings across Northern Ireland, to members of the public, commercial and industry organisations, district councils, other government departments and colleagues.
Skills and experience required
Proven policy delivery experience in a regulatory body, or regulatory policy experience in government.
A food policy or environmental health background will significantly strengthen your application.
Proven expertise in preparing and delivering key messages both verbally and in writing.
Strong interpersonal skills with experience of building effective working relationships with a wide range of stakeholders.
Excellent organisational skills and experience of effective prioritisation and leading of work to meet agreed deadlines.
Knowledge and understanding of the regulatory and delivery landscape for food hygiene in the UK would be highly beneficial.
