Our client, a leading engineering firm, is seeking a Senior Process Engineer to join their team in Darlington. This role focuses on process engineering for liquefied gas projects, involving process simulation, equipment sizing, and safety reviews.
Key Responsibilities:
Leading process design and control philosophies for assigned projects
Developing heat and material balances using Aspen Hysys
Supervising preparation of PFDs, P&IDs, and process data sheets (SmartPlant P&ID)
Conducting process equipment sizing (pumps, vessels, heat exchangers)
Participating in HAZOP, SIL, and safety reviews
Overseeing commissioning operations for cryogenic storage tanks Requirements:
Degree in Chemical or Process Engineering (IChemE accredited)
Extensive experience in oil & gas, petrochemicals, or cryogenic storage
Strong process simulation skills (Aspen Hysys)
Working knowledge of SmartPlant P&ID
Experience leading smaller projects and mentoring junior engineers
