Key Responsibilities:
*
Case Management:
*
Manage a caseload of children in care, undertaking assessments, care planning, and reviews to meet statutory requirements.
*
Develop and implement care plans tailored to the specific needs of children and young people, prioritizing their safety and welfare.
*
Ensure timely interventions and high-quality outcomes for children and families.
*
Safeguarding:
*
Lead safeguarding enquiries to protect children at risk, working closely with multi-agency teams.
*
Ensure children are safeguarded against harm and that their needs are met in line with legal and policy frameworks.
*
Collaboration:
*
Build strong partnerships with families, carers, and multi-disciplinary teams to deliver holistic support for children in care.
*
Support fostering and placement teams to secure stable, nurturing environments for children and young people.
*
Court Work:
*
Prepare analytical and evidence-based court reports, attend hearings, and give evidence to support decision-making in the best interests of the child.
*
Mentorship:
*
Provide guidance and support to less experienced social workers to promote best practices within the team.
Essential Requirements:
*
Qualifications:
*
Recognized Social Work Qualification (e.g., Degree/Masters in Social Work, DipSW, CQSW).
*
Social Work England (SWE) registration.
*
Experience:
*
A minimum of 3 years post-qualification experience within a similar Children in Care or CIN team.
*
Extensive knowledge and application of The Children Acts 1989 and 2004 and other relevant safeguarding legislation.
*
Skills & Attributes:

Strong analytical and decision-making skills with a child-centered approach.
*
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to build positive relationships with children, families, and professionals.
*
Resilient and adaptable, with the ability to thrive in a high-pressure, fast-paced environment.
