Role Overview:

The Territory Sales Representative will provide services for new and existing customers to grow our retail and commercial fuel sales and the agriculture industry, with a strong emphasis on fuel sales to farmers, ranchers, and other agriculture businesses. You are responsible for using knowledge and experience to resolve customer issues. You will work closely with our customers to assist them in achieving their goals. Primarily you work alongside the Sales team. However, you will work with every department in AFD on a regular basis, and of course your customers.

The travel expectation for this role is up to 75%.

What you will do day-to-day:

Focus on acquiring new commercial and retail accounts including the agriculture industry, with a strong emphasis on fuel sales to farmers, ranchers, and other agricultural businesses.
Cold calling, account management, presentation development, closing deals
Evaluate customer’s needs
Visit current and potential customers to promote AFD as their sole provider of fuel
Track all sales calls on approved tracking sheets
Work with the Sales Manager and Business Development Manager to develop Dealer offerings and marketing materials.
Complete ROI analysis and determine product feasibility based on Company return models.
Promote the Mission, Vision, and Values of the organization both internally and externally, as well as oversee the adherence to Mission, Vision, and Values
Represent AFD in a positive professional manner working with the customer to help identify/analyze and resolve possible issues; recommend solutions
Work with Credit department to insure all customer accounts are paid as per their agreements
Attend conferences and trade shows as required
Maintain knowledge on current industry trends
Identify potential areas of technology improvement and cost saving measures.
Coordinate the introduction of new products
Coordinate customer complaint response and technical support
Provide input to the marketing, sales, and business teams on product quality, performance, and competitive issues as outlined by our customers
Collect and analyze data to understand market needs
Responsible for assisting with the development of specific market segment growth programs
Understand and analyze Branch Financial statements to remain efficient and cost effective.
Create recognition as AFD’s Fuel solutions industry expert
Make presentations to AFD Managers and Executives as required
Other related duties as required or assigned

What you need to succeed:

5+ years’ experience in a sales or customer service role
Post-Secondary Degree in Business Management preferred
High School Diploma or GED required

Highly Valued Additional Experience/Skills/Education:

Experience in agriculture, transportation, fuel or oil and gas industry considered an asset.
Experience as a Fuel advisor or offers fuel tank solutions.
Knowledge of business organization and practices
Advanced knowledge of MS Office, Excel, PowerPoint, Adobe, and e-mail required
Professional written and verbal communication skills

Salary: $80k – 100k (based on experience) + (company vehicle, structured commission)
